App Store News
Hey everyone, here’s just a little post about all that’s happened on the App Store gaming wise. First off, Chair Entertainment released Infinity Blade III, which is the conclusion to the series. From the screenshots, it looks pretty cool. It costs $7.49 Angry Birds Star Wars II was also released, which came as a surprise to me, it didn’t really check to see if it was being made. You can now play as the characters from the prequel trilogy, and also you can join the Pork Side! It costs $.99 Fifa 14 was also another recent addition, with the app itself being free. It gives you Ultimate Team and Multiplayer. But, you have to pay $5.49 for the unlock for single player games. Anyway, other games worth a look are Disney Infinity Toy Box, which is free until October 15th and Terraria which is $5,49. Keep Tapping!
Iron Man 3: The Video Game
Hey everybody, so yeah, I haven’t been writing reviews lately. Anyway, here’s my review of Iron Man 3. So, first off, this game is Free, which is pretty sweet, but Gameloft are pretty sneaky, putting in in-app purchases to make you buy important stuff like iSO-8 or points. There is also another very annoying system, where you earn XP to buy more armour, but you then have to build the armour with points! Back to the game. It is an endless runner (or flyer) which pits you against A.I.M droids and other enemies, as well as rockets being shot at you sometimes in New York City, which doesn’t make much sense. The game follows after the movie, and there are no spoilers. The voice acting of Tony doesn’t sound like him. To the positives now, which I will start off by saying all the armours that you can use. There are heaps, from Mark 42 to Mark II. A lot of the armours that appear in the climax of the movie appear, with the best one being the strong Igor. Some are new, though. Boss battles tie in with the flying, where you have to fly a certain amount of metres before you can fight them.
To control Iron Man, you have to tilt the screen, and you also have to tap to fire a ball of energy, and slide across the screen to fire a beam of energy, and also as you go you get power for a special, which knocks out all the enemies.
All in all, Iron Man 3 isn’t Bad, but the need for in-app purchases is sometimes annoying. I give it 3.5 digital stars.
Man of Steel iOS
Ok, so Man of Steel just came out a month ago, and with all superhero blockbusters, there is usually a tie-in game. So, for iOS comes Man of Steel.
So, the game follows the story of the movie, and has you fighting against all of General Zod’s minions and generals. There are upgrades you can purchase, such as better health, power, dodging speed and laser eyes. These upgrades are extremely important, as you will be fighting wave after wave of villains in every level. Yes, this is an Infinity Blade Clone.
There are also suits with different strengths and weaknesses, and they all need to be purchases with gemstones, and they take ages to get. So don’t expect to get a new suit anytime soon. But, now I have to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the game.
Strengths: Combat, although repetitive, has great moments. If you beat up an enemy enough, you send them flying into debris in the background. Even a building!
The graphics are good for iOS standards, and they are pretty good on the iPad.
The game itself isn’t half-bad, unlike past Superman games.
Cutscenes animated in comic-style!
Kryptonite (Weaknesses):
Combat gets sometimes boring and repetitive.
Lot’s of Levels, but of the same thing.
Anyway, it still is a good purchase, and I would recommend it for fans of Superman alike.
4.5 Digital Stars.

Back to the Future: The Game Episodes 4 and 5
It’s time to return to Hill Valley in Back to the Future: The Game Episodes 4 and 5. The 4th Episode is Double Visions, and the fifth is Outatime.
First, I’ll review Double Visions. Double Visions is about Marty travelling back to 1931, to stop Emmett Brown from making the worst mistake of his life. That’s pretty much the whole story. It is the worst episode, but is not a game to avoid. Nothing that exciting happens except at the start and the end, and inbetween it is boring. It’s alright, I give it 3 digital stars.
Now, it’s time to review Outatime. In this episode, Marty travels to Hill Valley’s past and present to keep Emmett on the path of science, saving Hill Valley and himself! This is the best episode in the whole game. The story is interesting and the ending leaves you wanting more. It is great, and hard to fault. I give it 5 digital stars.
Since that’s all the episodes, I’ll have to give a score for all of the episodes. I give all of the episodes 4 digital stars.
Back to the Future: The Game Episodes 2 and 3
Great Scott! It’s time to review the episodes Get Tannen! and Citizen Brown. First off, I’ll review Get Tannen!
After Marty discovers his grandfather Artie McFly will be killed in 1931, Marty travels back 6 hours into the past to save his Grandfather, his father and himself! He saves his Grandfather, but when he travels back to 1986, he discovers that the notorious Hill Valley Gangster Kid Tannen does not go to jail on the day he was meant to, Marty must go back to 1931 to stop Tannen and get him into jail before it’s too late!
The gameplay remains the same as It’s About Time, but the game itself is better than it. The plot is good, the puzzels and story is interesting and is a great experiance. Well worth it’s $2.99 price. I give it 4.5 digital stars. Now, it’s time to review Citizen Brown.
When Marty travels back to 1986, he discovers that Doc and Edna Strickland have turned Hill Valley into a police state, with many laws. His parents are the same as they were before he fixed the timeline, his girlfriend is a punk-rocker and it is ruled by the enigmatic First Citizen Brown, who is actually Doc!
This episode was alright, and was at times kind of interesting. This one had less of a story, and more of Marty exploring this alternate Hill Valley. Still, the gameplay was good and at times was varied. It isn’t worst episode and isn’t the best either. I give it 3.5 digital stars.
That’s all for now, and if you enjoy my posts and want to be updated of new ones, subscribe. Also, write comments about your opinion, not spam, if you want. For now, keep tapping!
Back to the Future: The Game
Get ready to travel in time with Marty McFly in Back to the Future: The Game! Being a fan of the movies, I instantly wanted to buy it. The game has been out for about two years, but it has recently been released together in one app. This app only gives you one episode to play for free, and you have to pay for the rest. I’ve completed the first Episode, It’s About Time, and have started the next episode, Get Tannen. In this review, I’ll start with It’s About Time. In this game, Marty has to rescue Doc, in the year 1931, from being killed by Kid Tannen, the infamous Gangster of Hill Valley. The game has pretty good graphics for a port of a PC game, but it has severe glitch issues. Sometimes, you have to exit the app to get it working again, which can be really annoying.
You control Marty with a virtual Joystick, which can come up wherever you tap on the screen. You drag across to run and drag normally to walk. You can interact with things by presssing on them, which sometimes doesn’t work. The length of the game is pretty short, but it has a great story. For a first episode, it’s not bad. I give it 4 digital stars.
That’s it for now, so tune in for more reviews soon. Keep tapping!
Updates!
Hi everyone. You probably would notice I’ve had a pretty big break. But that doesn’t matter, because I’m back now. Anyway, there is a massive game on sale, Infinity Blade. If you haven’t read my other reviews when I’ve mentioned games as Infinity Blade clones, this is the real deal. It has amazing graphics and is really addictive. But be warned, the cutscenes are in a different language. When I heard it, I was really confused! But, It’s still good. That’s all for now, so keep tapping!
